Alice's Story

Alice is a retired teacher who lives alone in a 2 bedroom bungalow, she never married having lost the love of her life to the Normandy landings in the 2nd world war. Last year Alice found that the weekly shopping and keeping her bungalow tidy were becoming a struggle for her, she contacted Hetton Home Care Services and spoke to Linda Cardy the domestic services coordinator. Linda arranged to visit Alice at her home to discuss the help she wanted; together they agreed that 2 hours help each week for 4 weeks would get the bungalow in order then 1 hour every week would keep it tidy. Alice can still manage to get to the local shop for odds and ends but would like someone once a fortnight to get a 'big shop'.
